Cowboy Bebop
Cowboy Bebop
Synopsis
In 2071, the crew of the spaceship Bebop travels through the solar system in search of bounties. In the slang of the era, these bounty hunters are called "cowboys." Most episodes revolve around a bounty; however, the heart of the story concerns each character's past and broader past events, which become increasingly interconnected as the series progresses. The first storyline follows Spike Spiegel, a former member of a criminal organization called the Red Dragons, who is haunted by a love triangle he experienced with his former Red Dragons partner Vicious and a mysterious woman named Julia. The second storyline centers on Faye Valentine, a debt-ridden amnesiac gambler who was awakened from cryogenic sleep, whose past remains a mystery. The other characters also have pasts worth exploring: Jet Black, a former officer of the interplanetary police agency ISSP and owner of the ship (the Bebop); Edward, a gifted and hyperactive young hacker; and Ein, a "data dog" who escaped from a laboratory, possessing superior intelligence but behaving most of the time like an ordinary dog.
