Haruyuki is a self-conscious teenager who is constantly the victim of school bullying. His only escape is virtual reality gaming. Everything changes when Kuroyukihime, the most popular girl in school, introduces him to a mysterious program called Brain Burst. This program allows users to accelerate their brainwaves so that time appears to freeze in the real world. However, to earn acceleration points, users must battle each other in a virtual reality fighting game — and losing all of one's points means never being able to use Brain Burst again.
