Oshi no Ko Season 1

Chapter 7 — Buzz

First, the episode opens during a typhoon, where Aqua finds Ruby wandering outside after she had gone out alone and gotten lost. A police officer confronts them both for being in a dangerous situation, and Mem-cho is alerted that Aqua is in trouble with the police. Meanwhile, back at the cast house, Mem-cho and Kana discuss the severe online backlash Akane Kurokawa is facing after her outburst on the reality show, with Kana warning about the psychological toll of public criticism and noting that reality shows have driven many participants to suicide worldwide. Then, Aqua visits Akane and her mother, where Akane is shown recovering from the crisis. Aqua confronts the show's director, arguing that Akane — only 17 years old — was deliberately framed as a villain by the production, and that adults have a responsibility to protect young cast members. He pushes for access to the footage of the moment Akane hit him and he embraced her, which he had intentionally staged within the camera's frame, but the director refuses to release it due to production rules. Finally, Aqua, Kana, and Mem-cho form a plan to rehabilitate Akane's public image by creating a viral video, with Mem-cho handling social media strategy and Kana composing emotional music. Akane herself begins intensively researching Ai Hoshino's personality to portray her on the show, analyzing her traits in remarkable detail. At the end, Akane returns to the reality show set, apologizes to the cast, and filming resumes, hinting at her transformation into a new persona.
