Oshi no Ko Season 1

Chapter 10 — Pressure

The episode opens with the B Komachi members announcing that Kana Arima will be the center for their JIF performance. Kana immediately resists, having repeatedly stated she did not want the role, and accuses Aqua and Ruby of trying to pressure her by announcing it on camera. Aqua then reveals that he and Ruby had gone to karaoke together, realized neither of them could serve as center, and discovered Kana's old music video, which convinces them she is the right choice. After Aqua praises Kana's growth and dedication as a performer, she reluctantly agrees to take on the center position when Ruby and Aqua demonstrate how poor their own singing is. In the middle of the episode, the group undergoes intense rehearsals with choreographer Pieyon, who is actually being impersonated by Aqua — a deception Pieyon himself is aware of and privately discusses with Aqua, noting that Kana would not have listened to Aqua's direction otherwise. The night before the JIF performance, the girls share a room together, with Ruby expressing excitement, Mem-cho anxious, and Kana urging them all to sleep. Ruby opens up about her past life of illness and confinement, explaining that becoming an idol fan gave her joy and purpose, which is why she treasures this dream so deeply. At the end of the episode, Kana reflects alone on her past failures as a child actress and her fear of being irrelevant, internalizing negative comments about herself. Just before going on stage, Ruby notices Kana's cold hands and realizes she is nervous; Kana admits that unlike performing alone, she is scared this time because she does not want Ruby and Mem-cho to suffer the failures she has experienced. Ruby reassures her by calling her simply a hardworking rookie
