Black Lagoon Season 1 Black Lagoon : An Explosive Dive into the Criminal Underworld of Roanapura

Chapter 3 — Episode 3

The episode opens with Rock narrating his new life in Roanapur, describing the city's grim landmarks — a weathered Buddha statue at the gulf entrance and a hanging noose at the overland gate — as he reflects on his recent transformation from a Tokyo salaryman into a member of the Lagoon Company. First, Dutch leaves the boat on personal business while Revy stays behind, teaching Rock how to handle a weapon and dismissing his curiosity about Dutch's whereabouts. During their conversation, Revy warns Rock about the deceptive nature of Roanapur's criminal underworld, and Rock privately acknowledges he still has much to learn about his crewmates' hidden pasts. Then, Dutch meets with Mr. Chin, a local criminal figure, who secretly arranges an ambush against the Lagoon Company. While Dutch is away, Benny detects six fast-approaching boats surrounding the PT boat in a coordinated hunting pattern. Revy identifies the attackers as hired killers rather than marine police, and the crew engages in a fierce sea battle to break through the encirclement. Later, after surviving the ambush, the Lagoon Company tracks down Mr. Chin as he attempts to flee, and Revy confronts him directly, making clear they already know of his betrayal. Finally, Dutch receives a call from Balalaika, who acknowledges the incident and promises future work. At the end, Dutch invites the whole crew to spend the night drinking at the Yellow Flag bar as compensation for the ordeal, and the episode closes on a rare moment of camaraderie among the group.
