Chapter 4 — Episode 4
**Black Lagoon – Season 1, Episode 4 Summary** First, the episode opens in a war-torn location where U.S. soldiers led by Captain Burrows and Sergeant Major Horner encounter a child — later revealed to be Garcia — caught in a firefight. Burrows defends the decision to rescue the boy rather than abandon him, adjusting the unit's tactical plan accordingly. Meanwhile, the assassin Shenhua and her associates are also tracking a target, following a trail of blood through the area. Then, in the middle of the episode, Roberta — in a dangerously unstable, drug-affected state — is found by Fabiola, a fellow maid who has come to retrieve her on Garcia's behalf. Revy and Roberta form an uneasy temporary alliance, coordinating a surprise assault on the U.S. soldiers holding Garcia, with Revy targeting Horner and Roberta going after Burrows. Rock, unable to sleep over the unfolding chaos, calls Dutch to propose taking a legitimate commission from a U.S. government agency to extract the key parties from Roanapur, arguing it benefits the Lagoon Company. Finally, at the end of the episode, Revy and Roberta engage in a tense philosophical confrontation, each challenging the other's motivations and self-perception. Balalaika then approaches Garcia directly, declaring that all the players are now in position and that Garcia himself is the "golden key" to her next plan, ending the episode on an ominous cliffhanger.
