Eighty Six Season 1

Chapter 14 — Episode 14

# Eighty-Six — Season 1, Episode 14 Summary First, the episode opens at the Special Officers' School Tactical Practice Grounds on February 11th, 2149, where cadets Shin (Shinei Nouzen) and Marcel are reprimanded after a training exercise gone wrong — Marcel exposed his Feldreß's belly to enemy fire, while Shin made the dangerous decision to jump his Vánagandr over a hill to prevent a collision. Both receive zero grades, though Shin's quick thinking is acknowledged. Afterward, a fellow cadet warns Eugene to distance himself from Shin, spreading rumors about deadly Feldreß tests and calling Shin "the Reaper." Then, jumping forward to April 1st, 2149, Shin and his unit are transported to the Giad Federacy, where they are introduced to Frederica, a young girl who joins the 1028th Test Unit as a mascot figure and reveals she has a personal surprise for Shin — an item obtained from Ernst that holds deep meaning to him. The unit warmly welcomes Shin back, and by July 28th, 2149, the Nordlicht Squadron is deployed on the Giad Federacy's Western Front Lines, where they engage a massive Legion assault, with Shin leading a reckless solo charge using the high-frequency blade. Finally, after the battle, Raiden delivers bad news that results in the death of Eugene Rantz, prompting a grief-stricken Kurena to furiously blame Shin for not saving him. A Federacy officer named Haruto Keats urges Shin and his unit to abandon the military and live freely, but Shin coldly warns of incoming Legion and orders his squad to regroup at a new rally point.
