Eighty Six Season 1

Chapter 20 — Episode 20

On October 9th, 2149, Shinei briefs the squad on the operation: the Federacy's main force and the Alliance will advance toward the Morpho's position on the tracks, while the United Kingdom acts as a northern diversion, supported by the Alliance's prototype anti-radar weapon that disperses metal particles to jam Legion communications. Then, once the Legion fall for the northern diversion and begin moving, Raiden confronts Shin and urges him to take Frederica and withdraw, expressing serious concern that something had taken control of Shin during the last battle and that leading the squad in his current state is too dangerous. Later, on October 10th, Lena re-establishes Para-RAID contact with the squad and learns they are already 120 kilometers west of the old border; she orders a pre-dawn march to close the gap, while Raiden is revealed to have arranged spare Reginleifs, ammunition, spare parts, and a repair crew transported by air, refusing to return to the front lines until the squad comes back. Meanwhile, the squad deals with mechanical trouble as Theo is forced to purge a damaged component, and the group has a candid moment where Kurena's feelings for Shin are gently exposed by Frederica. Finally, on the night of October 10th into October 11th, Shin and Frederica share a deeply personal conversation in which Shin admits he expected to die before reaching a future, confesses his fear of losing his brother Kiri once he is freed, and reveals he sees himself as nothing more than the Reaper. At the end, on October 11th, Raiden opens combat operations under the callsign "Pale Rider," and Shin, operating as "No-Face," relays new intelligence that an enemy Legion unit has been detected pursuing them
