Chapter 19 — Episode 19

The episode opens with Lieutenant Colonel Lev Aldrecht piloting the Nachzehrer transport aircraft, which is intercepted by Legion forces blocking the squad's path. Unable to maneuver easily, Aldrecht decides to engage the enemy while dropping the Nordlicht squadron — including Shinei and his unit — from altitude before the aircraft is lost. The squad lands and immediately fights through Legion defenders, eventually sighting the Morpho rail cannon, still undergoing repairs, near the high-speed train terminal at Kreutzbek City. Then, as Nordlicht engages the Morpho, the Legion unit Baleygr — controlled by Shin's deceased brother Kiriya — completes its repairs and attacks, repeatedly broadcasting "I'll kill you." Shin becomes dangerously fixated on destroying Kiriya, ignoring orders from HQ to withdraw and leave the enemy to escorts, while his squadmates desperately try to reach him. Though Baleygr is confirmed destroyed, Shin pursues the Morpho against direct orders, forcing Raiden and the rest of the squad to follow him deeper into enemy territory. Finally, the squad discovers that Frederica Penrose has secretly stowed away in Shin's Juggernaut, having hidden herself to prevent the squad from throwing their lives away. She confronts them, declaring that her role as hostage is to ensure they survive and return home. Shin accepts her presence, takes her into his unit, and solemnly hands her his personal sidearm — the same gun he used to mercy-kill fallen comrades — instructing her to use it on herself if the squad is wiped out, ending the episode on a heavy, unresolved note as the squad presses on toward the Morpho.
