Chapter 16 — Episode 16

The episode opens with a chilling Legion-wide broadcast ordering all units to launch simultaneous full-scale offensives against the Giad Federacy, the United Kingdom of Roa Gracia, the Alliance of Wald, and the Republic of San Magnolia. On August 28th, Stellar Year 2149, Raiden wakes Shinei, who senses through his ability that the incoming Legion force is overwhelming, with a disproportionately large wave targeting the west. Shinei warns Raiden not to connect to him during the battle due to the intensity of what he is experiencing, then uses his Para-RAID to alert the entire Federacy army before Nordlicht Squadron launches ahead of all other units. In the middle of the battle, Nordlicht Squadron holds the first wave and is ordered to fall back, but Shinei overrides the command after detecting a larger second wave behind it, leading the squadron forward to intercept the main Legion formation. During the intense fighting, the voice of Kiriya Nouzen and then Shourei Nouzen reach Shinei through the Legion's network, visibly destabilizing him. Meanwhile, in the Republic of San Magnolia, Lena meets with Jerome Karlstahl, who warns her that arming the Eighty-Six to defend the Republic risks a future massacre, though Lena refuses to give up and insists on fighting regardless of the outcome. Finally, the Legion begin to retreat and Nordlicht Squadron is ordered back to base, where Frederica confronts Shinei emotionally. Lena then activates her Para-RAID to broadcast to all Processors across every combat area, ordering them to gather in the 85 districts and fight, while simultaneously commanding Federacy personnel to open the Gran Mur's gates.
