Sousou no Frieren Season 1

Chapter 15 — Episode 15

The episode opens 29 years after the death of Himmel the Hero, as Frieren's party travels through the Laub Hills in the northern lands. They arrive at a nearby village only to find all the inhabitants unconscious, and Frieren identifies the cause as a curse — a spell mankind has yet to decipher. Sein explains that breaking curses falls under the domain of priests using the Magic of the Goddess, and he begins analyzing the curse's type and source, while Frieren reveals she can partially sense magical attacks but cannot fully counter curses herself. In the middle of the episode, the party defeats the source of the curse and Sein successfully awakens the villagers, with both Frieren and Sein receiving gratitude for their complementary roles. The group then reaches the Fortress City of Vorig, a halfway point on the road to Äußerst, but discovers they have run out of traveling funds. A noble named Lord Orden spots Stark and recruits the party for a paid request, which turns out to involve Stark escorting Orden's younger son Mut to a social gathering, requiring both of them to undergo etiquette training for a month. At the end of the episode, the social gathering concludes successfully, and Lord Orden pays the party their reward — allowing Frieren to choose a grimoire from his collection, a process that takes half a day. In a private moment, Orden reveals to Stark that his son Wirt died in battle and that their last words were an argument, and Stark declines an offer to stay, explaining he must return to his foster parent with stories from his adventures. The episode closes with a quiet, melancholic tone as Frieren examines a grimoire titled "Long-lived Friends."
