Sousou no Frieren Season 1

Chapter 20 — Episode 20

The episode opens with a battle already underway, as a fighter faces off against Wirbel, who uses a magic spell that cuts through objects with an invisible trajectory. Wirbel then unleashes a saturation attack — simultaneously controlling a massive number of offensive spells — overwhelming his opponent, who cannot block them all. He then shares his brutal past as a member of the Northern Magic Corps, revealing that he has killed women and children in wars, describing such acts as daily reality in the north rather than exceptional horror, while his opponent uses the conversation as a stalling tactic. Later, Wirbel ultimately spares his opponent, and a philosophical exchange follows in which his opponent observes that his binding magic — which grants a pause before killing — reflects a desire to remain human despite bloodstained hands, and Wirbel acknowledges this is true. Finally, the episode shifts to a new confrontation involving Denken and Richter, who face Frieren and her companion; Richter instructs Denken to hold Frieren off for one minute so he can kill both targets, but Denken instead declares he will personally crush Frieren himself, launching
